Engine Win At Marketing Week Effectiveness Awards
We’re very proud to announce that at last night’s Marketing Week Effectiveness Awards we won, in conjunction with our partner agencies Dave & Slice, the award for the Travel & Leisure category. The award was for our launch of the Ski Republic brand, which we talked about this time last year, which has revolutionised the ski-hire industry in France. But don’t take our word for it – listen to what the judges had to say:
Ski Republic has redefined the French ski market and improved standards in quality and pricing…[they] used the web as their core distribution channel for delivering smarter ski hire…[and] created a revolution in customers’ behaviour with online booking leaping from 5.5% to 23%.
Sales targets of 4.5% gross profit, set before launch, were surpassed by 9.4%. Over four times more online sales have been generated for Ski Republic than any other brand, and its launch alone generated a 20% gross profit increase for Favre Sports Group [Ski Republic's parent company].
All in all then, a job well done by all concerned: Dave, who came up with the brand & positioning, Slice who managed the launch in terms of consumer PR, and of course Altogether – not only did we design & build the site, we also undertook SEO & PPC for the new brand. It also shows that the Engine propostion, that integrated marketing really does deliver the best results, works in practice as well as theory. We’re also pretty chuffed that our friends at WCRS won the prestigious Agency of the Year award.
This was definitely an interesting project to work on. After all, how many brand launches result in competitors responding with ‘arson and tyre slashing’? Well, it certainly brings a new meaning to the phrase agressive marketing.
