Pot Noodle Pull The Wool Over Our Eyes

Whoever is in charge of the digital marketing at Pot Noodle, they deserve to get a medal. Their latest campaign, in conjunction with The Sun, is a series of spoof news reports which purport to show what happens when people really do realise the cliché “you are what you eat”.The first features poor Gary Booth who, after eating one too many lamb hotpot Pot Noodles, starts to resemble a sheep, like some sort of wooly version of The Fly. Whilst it’s hardly likely to win any Oscars it certainly had me chuckling and is, I wiould predict, like to result in some serious views and lots of people talking about Pot Noodle (most of them probably in the target demographic of young men).To be honest we shouldn’t be too surprised as Pot Noodle have serious history when it comes to viral videos. Their spoof of Guinness’ Dominos ad got more views on YouTube than its inspiration and probably cost about a tenth as much to produce.

Whilst Pot Noodle may not be to everyone’s taste, there is no denying that their marketing packs a punch.
