Is There A Company That Yahoo! Isn’t Merging With?

First Microsoft approached Yahoo! about a merger/take-over. Then Google gave the guys at Yahoo! a call to see if maybe they could hook up.

And whilst Information Week thought that Nokia would be the perfect partner for Yahoo! lots of other people think that they should consider getting together with AOL. But of course that was before anyone had even considered the fact that maybe the company Yahoo! should really be courting is Apple.

About the only thing for certain is that Rupert Murdoch definitely doesn’t want to take Yahoo! over, and that Yahoo! doesn’t want to become part of Microsoft. Or at least not until there’s more money on the table.

I guess that the most interesting thing about this is that there doesn’t seem to be a single commenter suggesting that Yahoo! has any sort of future as an independent business.

UPDATE: It seems like Mr Murdoch may have changed his mind.
