Online Marketing Show Expands
The Online Marketing Show has announced that it is renaming itself as the Online Marketing & Media Show, to take account for the growing influence of media owners in the online space. It strikes me as a natural progression when you consider recent announcements from companies ranging from the BBC to Bebo.
Michael Nutley, editor-in-chief of New Media Age, said:
In the interactive space it’s impossible to separate the message from the medium in which it appears, whether that’s a question of ads appearing next to inappropriate content, or exploiting emerging media platforms to deliver innovative advertising.
By adding media owners to the Online Marketing Show, we’re bringing content and context together.
With everyone clamouring to grab that all important slice of the consumer’s attention, the recognition that media owners have a large part to play in the growth of the web, is a welcome one indeed. We’ll certainly be there and look forward to seeing who else is there too.
