Google’s Birthday, Celebs Saving The World & Making The Brylcreem Ad

Well, it has been a very busy week & we’ve been a bit slack on the blog because of that. Matters haven’t been helped by the fact that New Media Age were buying me drinks all last night at the Bladdered Again event. Anyway, to make up for that we thought that we would share some of the stories that have caught our attention over the last few days.

First, apparently its Google’s 10th birthday today. We would have sent them a present, but what do you buy the company that has its own jet, and gets to land it on NASA’s runway? Anyway, according to Search Engine Land, its not actually their birthday anyway.

Next up is the news that an organisation called Pangea Day is hoping to bring peace to the planet through the medium of film. Maybe I’m an old cynic, but I’m just not sure whether the likes of Goldie Hawn, Alan Cumming & Phillipe Starck are really going to change the world. Anyway, this is the video promoting the day - here’s hoping they prove me wrong.

Finally we thought that you might like to see the ‘Making Of’ film for the new Brylcreem campaign. Although it is slightly tongue in cheek, it does give you an idea of exactly what Sam Veale had to go through to get it right.

Have a great weekend.
