With regards to Women using the net more than a man this has always been evident even before the Internet was as widespread as it is now, before the web it was the phone. Women would spend hours gassing away to friends where as males tend to be short and to the point, saving long discussions/conversations until they are face to face - the internet is no different and with sites like facebook the ladies have the perfect platform to endlessly waste away hours peering into other people's lives! The technology may change but people's habbits don't. Ste p.s: You might want to add in an "f" into your "major shit" !!
