Blindin’
Some of the Altogether staff went to the Hayward Gallery last night to see the brilliant Blind Light exhibition by Antony Gormley.
What is Blind Light? It’s exactly that. A disorientating perspex, room filled with dense fog and fluorescent lighting. It kind of gives the same sensation of that when walking in pitch black darkness. You can’t even see a person standing 3 feet in front of you!
In a modern digital age where stimulation seems to be sourced from the likes of Second Life and WoW (don’t hate the player, hate the game), it’s so refreshing that an installation can get the senses buzzing, confused and get people talking. Plus, the media hype (websites, email marketing and the Channel 4 documentary) doesn’t do much harm.
