A Practical Example of Affiliate Marketing with Widgets

If you’re reading this blog then the chances are you know what widgets are and you may well have heard it suggested that 2007 would be the “Year of the Widget”. We’re a big fan of them here at eyefall but it’s often been suggested that they are just “nice to haves” and in the real world have no marketing benefit.

To try and disprove this theory I would like to point towards a new affiliate program that I found mentioned on the new affiliates4u forum today.

Workcircle (a UK recruitment site) has released one of the first UK Affiliate Widgets and I have to say I am impressed – it shows just how easy it is to embrace blog marketing and I can see it being a very popular tool as it continues to develop.

As you will see on their Affiliate Site, the widget offers bloggers the opportunity to place relevant job adverts on their blog and is very easy to implement. Their message on the affiliate4u forum suggestions that they offer 10p per click though to the job spec.

Here’s an example of what it looks like (which can be customised in terms of the amount of ads displayed).

I really do hope we see more tools like this come out over the next 7 months to help bloggers embrace affiliate marketing.

Thanks James. That sounds like a really handy tool. I know one of my blogs would really benefit from it, and 10p click per job is not bad at all. Thank you.
