Want Mobile Search? Just Ask….
Further to my recent comments on Yahoo’s new mobile search offering, it seems like everyone is eager to get in on this particular niche. Search Engine Land reports that Ask is about to launch a mobile search service.
The thing that intrigues/interets me most about this, is the mention of the GPS functionality. Everything I see at the moment about mobile, from the promotion for the new Nokia, to the fact that Yahoo! is pushing localisation in its mobile offering, makes me thing that it won’t be enough for businesses to have mobile friendly sites, they will need to be offering targeted local information which is GPS compatible.
