YouTube to share revenue
Fresh from Davos, YouTube is planning to share ad revenues with users. On the surface it makes so much sense; drive participation and content creation even further by making sure the contributors benefit financially.
Mind you, Revver (‘who?’ I hear you ask) already share revenue with users and they don’t seem to be setting the world alight just yet.
What YouTube offers though is an established platform with a massive audience. What drives it at the moment? The fame or infamy that some contributors achieve.
With YouTube’s drive to ‘Reward creativity’ it’s not just about your fifteen minutes any more, you could make some money at this too!
